Fandome

Fandome was the web site I created in college as my senior capstone project. It had an ambitious vision: to allow fans of many types of popular media to rate and review that media. Further, they would build credibility for themselves and for the objects of their devotion by rating each other's reviews and therefore encouraging the creation of high-quality material.

Although the site never really took off with users, it was a technical success. It proved that I could develop all aspects of a medium-scale, dynamic, database-backed web site by myself. More importantly, perhaps, it provided an excellent code base for my next project, Gamescope (also linked from this portfolio) which represented a cleaner, more focused application of the Fandome code.
